National Strategies

  • Tourism Scotland 2020 (TS2020) is the national tourism strategy. The vision for the strategy is "to make Scotland a destination of first choice for high quality, value for money, and memorable customer experiences, delivered by skilled and passionate people". The strategy is industry led, supported by the key public agencies. The target for the strategy is to include visitor expenditure by £1bn by 2020. This will achieved by focussing on Scotland’s strengths and aligning our delivery to our key growth markets, namely
    • Home Turf: UK
    • Near Neighbours: EU (in particular Germany, Scandinavia, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy & The Netherlands)
    • Distant Cousins: USA, Canada, Australia
